Cable TV

You can view Indian TV programs on the following channels in the Bay/San Francisco Area.

• International Channel (Cable channel)
• KTNC (Broadcast channel 42)
• KTSF (Broadcast channel 26)

Check with your local cable operator to find out the actual TV channels that these broadcasts can be received on via cable.

These channels have Indian programming shown below.

International Channel (i-channel):

• Hindi serials, Sunday movie, news and other daily programming. International Channel provides programming information in this page. Programming by TV Asia, Zee TV and others.

KTNC:

• India Waves (Ph: (510) 259-1440, E-Mail: indiawaves@aol.com) : An hour of variety entertainment during the weekend.

KTSF:

• Namaste America (E-Mail: namastetv@aol.com) : An hour long program with 40 minutes of film song videos and 20 minutes of Indian sub-continent news.
• ShowBiz India (E-Mail: showbizindia@aol.com) : An hour of film song video sequences.
• Eye on Asia: Half hour of news from South Asia.
• Rangeela TV (E-Mail: rangeelatv@yahoo.com) : Half hour of film and pop music videos.

Check with the production companies (TV Asia, India Waves, etc) to find out the current timings of these programs.

In addition, the community TV station in your area may occasionally show Indian programming. Check with your cable provider to find out what community TV channels you receive and then call these stations for more information.

Satellite TV

Satellite TV providers beam some Indian programming. These are usually at an additional cost and sometimes you may need an additional dish antenna to receive these signals.

• EchoStar Communications (Dish Network): Zee TV and TV Asia are currently available as separate packages. Check with the company for more information.
• DirecTV: DirecTV broadcasts programs by Ethnic-American Broadcasting Company (EABC) who are used by Sony Entertainment Television Asia, to bring Sony TV programming to Asians in the US. Check this web page for more information. Also check this page by EABC.
